The bacteria affecting sedge cane (Acorus calamus L.) were revelaed for the first time on the territory of Ukraine. It is a valuable medicinal plant, the area of its spread is reducing under the influence of different anthropogenic factors. This disease was characterized by brown necrotic spots, surrounded by chlorotic zone on the leaves and soft rot of rhizomes. From the affected plants the pathogenic bacteria, were isolated which were identificated as Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora, Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus sp.
