Teeth eruption pattern in relation to age and physiological status in crossbred cattle

Mean ages for eruption of all four pairs of temporary teeth in Jersey crossbred and HF cross bred calves were found to as 3.44+0.27 and 4.80+0.60 months respectively. For the eruption of permanent incisors the mean ages were 29.44, 42.90, 49.40 and 62.9 months in Jersey cross bred cows and 29.50, 40.90, 55.70 and 61.78 months in HF cross bred cows for the first to fourth pair, respectively. In general, Jersey and HF cross bred cows possessed central pair of permanent incisor in 1st lactation, medical pair in 2nd lactation, lateral pair in 3rd lactation and all four pairs of permanent incisor during 4th lactation.
