This experiment was condacted from 1999 to 2001 evaluate The effects of planting pattern and plant density on seed yield of Alfalfa CV Baghdadi .The experimental design was a randomized complete block with split plot arrangement of treatments . planting pattern was as main plot at 5 levels and plant density was as sub plot at 4 levels. Results of The experiment showed That T here was not significant difference among planting pattern treatments for fresh and dry yield of alfalfa and also seed yield , and interaction of year and planting pattern was significant for seed yield. Hassia planting pattern at row spacing of 25 cm with 239 kg/ha seed yield in The first year and brelian seeder in The surface irrigated plots with 238 kg/ha in The second year had had The highest level of seed yield . effect of plant density and interaction of year by density was only significant for fresh and dry yield of alfalfa and was not significant for seed yield . se eding rate of 16 kg/ha with 21.7 t/h fresh yield and 4.6 t/ha dry yield and seeding rate of 16 kg/ha in The second year with 25.5 t/ha fresh yield and 5.1 t/ha dry yield had The highest alfalfa yield. Interaction of plant density and planting pattern was significant for dry yield and seed yield . Hassia at at row spacing of 25 cm with 231 kg/ha seed yield had The highest yield from seed parity .point of view Barzegar Hamedan planting pattern with seeding rate of 7 kg/ha had The highest yield and Brelian seeder in surface irrigated plots at 7 kg/ha seeding ratehad The lowest level of Chicory seed contamination .
