In order to evaluation of different rice lines and cultivars to introduce the best cultivars for different rice growing provinces, 85 new rice lines and cultivars were sent to seven rice growing provinces during 4 years from 2002-2005. In East Azarbayjan province, two stable and high yielding lines( 7- 7.5 t/ha) with good cooking quality were selected. These two lines were IR74717-44-1-55-2 and IR70445-86-2-1 with IRRI lines origin. In Cheharmohal-Va-Bakhtiyari and Lorestan provinces, all of the rice lines had not good response to climatic conditions, therefore, no cultivars selected. For this reason, 50 cold tolerant lines with IRRI origin were sent just to Lorestan province for more evaluation in 2005. From 30 rice cultivars plus 80 pure lines from Lenjan landrace variety, the line No. 2 was selected as a best line due to high yeild and good cooking quality in Esfahan province. With evaluation of 20 rice lines in Kohgoliyeh-Va- Boyerahmad province, two lines including IR74721-183-3-1-2 and IR75481-142-2-3 with 8.163 and 8.012 t/ha were selected respectively. These two selected lines are intermediate amylose content group. In Fars province, 5 rice lines including line No. 6, line No. 216, line No. 831, line No. 833 and line No. 841 were selected due to high yield and suitable morphologic characters. These rice selected lines should be evaluated in different locations in this province at least for two more years.
