Quality and quantity of forage yield, damage and population of Alfalfa weevil( Hypera postica) and Alfalfa Root weevil(Sitona humeralis) were evaluated in Chahar-Takhteh research station in 2001-2003.Experimental treatment were different rates of alfalfa and red clover mixed seed. Tretments were: Rc0AL100, Rc20AL80, Rc40AL60, Rc50AL50, Rc60AL40, Rc80AL20 and Rc0AL100.Data of dry and wet forage yield, Land equale ratio (LER), height, protein amount of Alfalfa and Red clover, infection percentage and domage of Alfalfa weevil and Alfalfa Root weevil were analyzed in Randomize Complete block design at 3 replications. Results showed that in mixed treatments more forage yield were produced than pure alfalfa and red clover traetments (p=0.01). Forage yield of mixed treatments was not significant on 3 years evaluation (p=0.01). The most and the least dry forage yield 11.98 and 8.44 ton/ha were obtained from Rc20AL80 and Rc0AL100 treatments. The most (LER) was obtained from Rc20AL80 treatment in each two years and showed that profitability of mixed culture in comparison with pure alfalfa and red clover planting. Protein amounts were not significant between mixed treatments and pure alfalfa and red clover treatments (p=0.05). Population density and infection percentage of alfalfa larvae at 20 alfalfa stem tips were less in mixed treatments in comparison with pure alfalfa and this difference was significant (p=0.01). Average dry weight of 20 alfalfa stem tips were not significant at all of the mixed treatments, but was significant with pure alfalfa treatment (p=0.01). The feeding of alfalfa weevil larvae and adults was not found at pure red clover treatments. With increase red clover amount at treatments, average dry weight of 20 alfalfa stem tips also were increased. Damage of Alfalfa Root weevil was very low and did not accountable.
