Clinical evaluation of herbal drug Mirtex vet in healing of oral lesion of foot and mouth disease in cattle.

This plan is a simple accidental double-blind project to clinical evaluate mirtovet (produced by Barij essence co.) in healing of mouth lesions in FMD disease and also comparing the results of the medication with Acetic Acid method (a popular method for washing mouth lesion). 76 cow and calves were selected with selected with age ranging 1-5 years and weight 80-600 Kg. After appearance clinical signs of the disease some of infected animals were randomly selected and were treated with medication just a code printed on their label. Clinical examination were curried out in 3-stage pattern before treatment, in the 2nd and fourth day after start of treatment. Result indicated that healing in mouth lesion with mirtovet was remarkable as compared with control group, so significant difference were in two stages after treatment( P0/001).The group treated by mirtovet had %96.4 (scour 1-2) recovery rate. This range has been 20.6 percent in control group and indicate on a %75 successful for mirtovet. The result also indicated that amount of purulent-free secretion in mirtexvet group was 68 and 89 percent in the 2nd and fourth day respectively. The number was 48 and 62 percent for control group .statistically amount of mirtovet efficacy in the second was as compared with control group (P0/01). Finally the medication of mirtovet in case of clinical signs with quickly heals mouth lesions and reduces purulent secretion, will lead a regain of appetite and reduced possibility of death.
