Introducing new cultivars of chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum with 160 species from composita family from wide varities in colour and form is one of the most cut and vase flowers throughout in the world. In 70s it was in the top of world flower product and in 90s it was placed second in world production, rose being the first. Foreign experts confirm it our country can end the two challenge at production all over the world and presenting new figures. It has quite proper condition for producting and exporting chrysanthemum. Accordingly, hybridization research project between chrysanthemum colons has started to produce variety in chrysanthemum bulks from 1376 in flower research and decorative flower national center and to introducing new types of cheysanthemum for Iran flower exports regording the exisience of high self incomatability in chrysanthemum colons in first generation (F1) and numerous phonotypes will be mode. Normally there is no need for castrating operation in hybridization. In the first year by castrating, isolating, hybridization and plantry hybrid produced in greenhouse, and in the secind year transferring produced seedlings to the land and evaluating them, repeating the cycle in the next year we achieved 450 new varieties in 1381 which 15 important features of these varieties (colour) petals, form of the flower and leaf, time of blossom, post life harvesting, growth model, number of petal rows, bush density, center disc colour, bush height, growth rate, flower size (diameter), petal condition, flower density in bush) were evafulated with respect to marketing. 50 new superior varieties were introduced in this stage
