I was dispatched to the National Center for Small and Micro-Enterprises Development (NCSMED), a statutory organization of Republic of the Fiji Islands, for 1 year and 4 months, from the end of November, 2004 as a senior volunteer of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It was expected that my main activity in the center's project development division would be to provide technical support for the establishment of a business incubator. Because the budget for the business incubator was late, I suggested an alternative project. The alternative project was to introduce the making of beehives and sales of the products at the National Youth Training Center, in the western part of the main island.
