Improvement of embryo recovery grade was examined to get superior embryo stably and effectively with estradiol benzoate (0.5mg on day 7) and GnRH in Japanese black cattle. Experiment 1. 24 cattle which were separated into two groups were used in this experiment. One group was treated with EB 0.5mg, and the other was control (no treated). When they were classified into high-talented cattle (15), middle-talented cattle (10-15) and low-talented cattle (10) according to average number of normal embryo in a past embryo recovery, in the cattle (15 embryos), the treated group tended to be above the control group for the numbers of recovered ovums and normal embryos. In the high-talented cattle, the treated group was equal with the control group about the numbers, and there was no decrease of the number of normal embryos, although there was decrease of that in the group of cattle with EB 1mg. Experiment 2. 32 cattle which were separated into two groups were used in this experiment. One group was treated with EB 0.5mg and PG, and additionally with GnRH (buserelin 10micro g) after 48 hours, and the other was control (with EB 0.5mg). Comparing them by average number of normal embryos in a past embryo recovery, although there was no difference of the number of corpus luteum and recovered ovums between 2 groups in the low-talented cattle, the treated group tended to be above the control group for the number of nornal embryo. But in the high-talented cattle, the treated group was above the control group for the number of recovered ovums, but the number of degeneration embryo increased and the number of normal embryos decreased.
