Specialists of the Latvian State Limited Liability Company Agrochemical Research Centre started agrochemical investigation of soil in 1992, corresponding to orders of land owners and farmers. Basic indexes of soil agrotechnical characteristics, organic matter content, soil acidity, content of mobile phosphorus and potassium, and exchangeable magnesium, were tested in all soil samples. Data of those agrochemical investigations have been compiled in databases AGRO 3. The database was modernized in 2006, and includes all previous data of agrochemical investigations of soil starting from 1965. On January 1, 2007 there was information on 11 117 farms in the area of 509.5 thousand ha.
