Sugarcane occupies a prominent place as a cash crop in Pakistan. Pakistan is at the fourth position in cane acreage and ranks at the fifth position in sugar production. Sugar cane crop suffers from diseases caused by fungi, viruses, and nematodes. Nematodes are now well recognized as one of the important pests of crops, causing globally 15.3% (approx.) loss in this crop. Besides nematodes sugarcane is damaged by a number of insect pests, which includes borers, pyrilla, termites, black bugs and white fly etc.
