The aim of this study was determination of the influence of two seed dressings on germination ability and field emergences of Virginia mallow (fuel crop). Increase of germination and field emergence abilities as well as survivability of young Virginia mallow plants at the first year may be of significant economic importance. The experiment involving seeds from three harvest years (2002-04) and two seed treatments (Orius and Sarfin) was carried out in 2003-05 in order to evaluate their influence on above Virginia mallow traits. Depending on seed harvest year germination was performed after 4, 16 and 28 months of storage. Applied seed treatments increased number of germinating fresh seeds (4 months after harvest) originating from 2002 and 2003, that were characterized by poor germination ability
