Cultivar diversity of cereals seed and production plantations

The paper presents results of the evaluation of cultivar diversity of cereal crops seed plantations in Poland over 1996, 2000 and 2004 and of production plantations in the Kujawy and Pomorze region. The evaluation of cultivar variation of cereal crops species and forms was made based on indicators calculated using Shannon-Wiener and Simpson's domination method. In Poland, the number of cereal crops cultivars on seed plantations increased, however, depending on the species and form, their area decreased by as much as 48.3-73.3 percent. The values of indices of cultivar diversity and evenness increased, while the dominance index value decreased
