The aim of conducted in 2002-04 study was determination of selenium content in grasslands plants of Wroclaw environs as well as evaluation of influence of some chemicophysical properties of soils on cumulation of this element in plants. The conducted study proved that average selenium contant in plants picked from 30 meadows and 12 pastures was 47 mcg/kg, with fluctuations of 15 to 130 mcg/kg. The average selenium content for particular regions as well as for all grasslands, show insufficient supply of this element to plants. Assuming 100 mcg/kg as criterion of assessment of green growth quality as a fodder for the milk cattle it can be stated that in none of regions it doesn't comply with the nutrition conditions
