This paper presents the results of a phytosociological research conducted on the organic and neighbouring conventional cereal crop fields. Additionally, purity of seed material and the botanical composition of other seeds in these crops were analysed. Apera spica-venti, Avena fatua and Elytrigia repens dominated on the conventional fileds. Organic plantations has richer species composition than conventional, but the total coverage of weeds was higher in the conventional crops. The presence of the weed seeds in the seed material was connected with the canopy layer of a given weed species
