A research into the influence of conserving tillage technologies on yielding of cereal crops and physical soil properties was carried out in 2003-05. In the field experiment three tillage systems were compared: traditional with post-harvest leaving the straw in form of chaff with ploughing to 25-30 cm depth, simplified with post-harvest leaving the chaff, cultivated to 15 cm depth, direct sowing, followed by mulching soil surface with disintegrated straw. Differentiation of tillage did not influence significantly the grain yield of maize or barley, but with increasing simplification the yield of winter wheat decreased and there occurred increased soil density and compactness
