The aim of present research was to determine a diversity of field crops in the Kujawy and Pomorze Province (Poland) and to evaluate the relationship between some habitat and organizational conditions and the diversity and dominance of crops on arable land. Based on the Agricultural Census of 2002 there was defined a share of each of the 21 crops in the crop structure and its diversity in 19 rural countries. Then, for respective administrative units of the province the field crops diversity and dominance indices were determined. It was found that the lower the quality index of soil in a given county and the lower share of wheat in the crop structure, the greater the diversity of crops
