Field experiment with winter triticale was conducted in 2001-03. The experimental factors were: cultivars (11 traditional and 4 dwarf) and nitrogen doses (0, 80 and 170 kg N/ha). Grain yield and the following grain quality traits were evaluated: 1000 kernel weight, falling number, test weight and grain protein content. The average grain yield of all triticale cultivars in 2001, 02 and 03 was significantly different and equaled respectively 5.83, 6.03 and 7.66 t/ha. Nitrogen fertilization caused grain yield increase for N doses, for 80 kg/ha by 21 percent and by 170 kg/ha by another 9.2 percent. But cultivar reaction to N fertilization was different in the sequent years. Kitaro was the best yielding cultivar (7.05 t/ha), while Janko the lowest yielding one (5.82 t/ha)
