The objective of the study was to determine the properties of anthropogenic sites under cultures of silver birch (Betula pendula Roth). The morphological features of the profiles studied were characterized by distinct layering and varied coloration, degree of compaction, different texture and alkaline reaction within the identified layers. The ashes and the sand applied on the experimental plots had very low or low levels of content of phosphorus and potassium and a medium level of magnesium content. The ashes forming the layers in the soil profiles were also characterized by a varied content of organic carbon. Other characteristic features of the profiles included low content of total nitrogen and the wide range of C:N ratio
