Sustainability of urban green spaces

The state of a number of urban green spaces in Serbia today allows most of them to be declared highly neglected urban zones. Numerous potentially valuable and ecologically beneficial green spaces are visitorless, and their recreational, psychological, social and cultural functions are not exploited. Thus, sustainability of urban green spaces should represent both starting point and the goal - a frame within which all the measures of their biological, aestetic, and functional reconstruction, broadening and gradual junction in the complex system of urban green spaces should remain, as one of the key element of humane urban life in settlements of Serbia.
