Induction of synchronized farrowing using synthetic prostaglandine (Synchromate)

Induction of parturition is biotechnological measure with the aim to induce farrowing in a particular time. Experiment was conducted on a industrial character pig farm (2100 sows) in Vojvodina (Serbia). Induction of parturition was done with synthetic prostaglandine Synchromate (Bremer Pharma GMBH-Germany), 113. days of gestation. The highest percent of farrowing (80%) was obtained in the first 36 hours after application, as well as post lactation estrus reaction in the first 7 days after weaning.
