Role of invasive plant species in landscapes of Serbia

In this paper some invasive species in Serbia and especially, on the city area of Belgrade, were analysed. On the example of woody invasive species, Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila L.) the quantification of degree invansiveness was done. There are presented the number, position and the distance of survived individuals from mother trees, According to these investigations and some experiences in other countries, it could be possible to make a list of invasive plant species for the conditions for urban landscape of Belgrade. The possible methods for invasive plant species control are discussed.
