During three years period (2003-2006), in Serbia in higher number in alfalfa field observed losses about 30% green masses of alfalfa. From collected material from field, by standard mycological procedures, the great number of Colletotrichum spp. strains was isolated. Pathogenicity of five strains to consolidate that to cause rot in inoculate alfalfa plant. Inoculate characteristics are studied with six different medium and six different temperatures. According to investigation of pathogenic and in culture characteristics selected strains, we can make a conclusion that these are Colletotrichum trifolii Bain et Essary, antracnose inducer in alfalfa.
