Effect of growth stage on macro and trace elements concentration in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) cv. K-22 and red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) cv. K7 was investigated. Sampling was done in 7-day intervals in the second and third cut. During growth and development N concentration was decreasing in alfalfa from 40.5 to 31.4 g/kg DM in second and from 42.1 to 33.6 g/kg DM in the third cut and in red clover from 39.5 to 21.7 g/kg DM and from 37.6 to 20.6 g/kg DM respectively. Concentration of P in alfalfa has not changed with advancing maturity in both cuts, while concentrations of K, Ca and Mg have decreased with maturation in both investigated legumes. Contents of Fe, Cu and Zn were the highest in the first growth stage. Some elements have not had the same trends of changing concentration during period of investigation. Changes in Mn have not showed constancy with increasing maturity in both legumes.
