Tha aim of this study was to investigate the effect of drought on vascular system in tomato flower petiole and fruit pedicel in different stages of development as well as some other characteristics of fruit. The results show the major differences between drought and control plants in abscission zone anatomy. Drought (especially partial root drying) increase phloem area and reduce xylem area in earlier stages of fruit development.
