In scope of general social transformations and transitional atmosphere at the beginning of the 21st century in Serbia, several tens of beekeepers from Serbia who live on the income from beekeeping production initiated the Founding Assembly of the Association of Professional Beekeepers of Serbia in Kraljevo on 19/03/2006. The Association is nongovernmental, nonpolitical and nonprofit society based in Kraljevo. The goals and tasks of the Association of Professional Beekeepers of Serbia are to gather all the professional beekeepers in Serbia in order to develop and promote beekeeping as economic activity, promote honey and other bee products, honesty of beekeeping and beekeeping association, creating good environment for presenting professional, scientific and practical knowledge and experiences and constant education of beekeepers and bee product consumers.
