The aims of this study were to investigate the infestation level of field crops by Ambrosia artemisiifolia (L.) in all production regions on Slovakia. Ambrosia infestation was evaluated in the Slovak Republic from 1997 till 2006 using standard EWRS methods (number per square meter). The results of the weed survey on arable land conducted in 1997-2006 were applied to assess the distribution and occurrence of common ragweed in fields situated in maize, sugar beet and potato production regions of Slovakia. Chemical treatments and cultural methods were used as weed regulation techniques in an integrated system. Based on the achieved results, it is evident that the infestation level of field crops by Ambrosia artemisiifolia is higher, especially in maize and sunflower fields in the maize production regions and in stubbles after cereals.
