Effect of 2,4-D on morphogenic response of flax hypocotyl segments cultivated in vitro

Morphogenic response (shoot regeneration, root regeneration and callus induction) of two flax cultivars PRFGL 62 and Super were tested with 0,1 mg/l NAA + 0,1 mg/l BAP and hormone-free MS and MO media. We applied 2,4-D pretreatment in 4 concentrations (1 mg/l 2,4-D, 2 mg/l 2,4-D, 5 mg/l 2,4-D and 10 mg/l 2,4-D) on hypocotyl segments of flax. Orientation of hypocotyl segments was maintained to recognise different responses of apical, root or central regions of hypocotyl. Differences have been found in morphogenic response among different media, different concentrations of 2,4-D, different parts of the hypocotyl and different flax genotypes.
