The paper deals with some physical and mechanical properties scotch pine wood from the view point of juvenile wood occurrence. Juvenile wood has lower density, lower radial and tangential shrinkage and lower value of bending strength and modulus of bending elasticity. The much higher value of shrinkage along the grain of juvenile wood was fined. It is important to take into consideration the changed properties of juvenile wood versus mature wood in the raw material.
