The green peach aphid Myzus persicae Sulzer is the most important insect pest on many important crops. The development of varieties resistant to green peach aphid faces some difficulties when doing accurate identification of resistant genotypes. The field test under natural strong infestation pressure shows the most suitable way for identification of resistant tobacco genotypes against green peach aphid. The infestation was evaluated twice - the first during high pressure in June and the second after maturity of main capsule in September by yes no method of whole plant and particularly stem. During 2003 -2005, on the base of screening 78 genetic resources maintain on Research Institute of Crop Production Piešťany the resistant genotypes of tobacco V.A.M, F225, NC744, CV 288 and Vyx32 were identified. The resistant genotypes revealed resistance on level of standards genotypes TI 1028 and TI 1112 against alate aphid (migrantes alatae) and apterous aphid without using insecticides control. 71 tested tobacco genotypes were very heavy infested by alate forms and colonies of apterous green peach aphid.
