The paper deals with diameter, height and qualitative structure of regenerated beech stands during final cut and relation between parent and sequential stand. Data of repeated measurements on stand sections of permanent research plots (PRP) were a base for the study. Three PRP were selected. They belong in sets of forest type of Querceto Fagetum (QF), Fagetum typicum (Ft) and Fagetum pauper (Fp) located 450 to 750 m above the sea level. The aim of the work is to determine an optimal setting-up time, an optimal period of natural regeneration of parent stand above sequential stand, an interval of silvicultural measures and an optimal regeneration period. On the base of the statistical and regression analysis of relations of parent and sequential stand data, the optimal values were determined as follows: 4 to 7 years of setting-up time, 5 to 10 years of period of natural regeneration, first tending measures at 7 to 10 years of the age, interval of tending measures 5 to 6 years, regeneration period 30 years in average. Obtained knowledge can be used in beech stands under regeneration by shelterwood silvicultural system.
