Efficacy of a single dosage of albendazole (dose: 8 mg /kg) plus pyrantel pamoate (dose: 25 mg /kg.) given orally against strongylid nematodes of meat goats was determined by faecal egg counting reduction test using the Mc Master egg counting technique during September 2004 to January 2005. Twenty-two naturally acquired strongylid nematode infected goats (12 males and 10 females) from a small private goat farm in Saraburi province were used. Experimental goats were cross-bred of Thai native and Anglo-Nubian goats which had previously been treated with albendazole or other benzimidazole anthelmintics for routine deworming. Goats were divided into 2 groups : 1. control untreated goats (n=9) and 2. albendazole plus pyrantel pamoate treated goats (n=13) . Efficacy of albendazole plus pyrantel pamoate against strongylid nematodes was potentially high on day 3 after treatment (99.6 percent) then were the highest (100.0 percent) during 7-14 days post-treatment. The efficacy was still high (96.0 - 99.0 percent) between 30 and 60 days later. Number of strongylid eggs in goat faeces in control group during experiment were higher than those of day 0 (before treatment) . Side effects of the combined anthelmintic drugs in experimental goats were not found.
