The influence of the Australian merino - AM blood percentage was studied on some reproductive traits of the rams from the North-East Bulgarian Fine Fleece Breed - NE– Shumen Type. Nine groups were set up according to the Australian merino breed percentage as follows: 0% without AM; 25%; 31.25%; 37.50%; 50%; 56.25%; 62.50%; 68.75% and crosses with rams of Booroola breed. Significant differences were found between the Australian merino breed percentage groups for the testis volume, spermatozoa number in 1 cm3, total number of sperms in the ejaculate, cold resistance factor and the spermatozoa motility after obtaining the ejaculate of North-East Bulgarian Fine Fleece Breed – Shumen Type. The Rams with 0% of Australian merino as well as the crosses with Booroola could be graded higher than the average for the population for most of the studied traits.
