In potato breeding for earliness the most drastic losses occur on the stage of generative population. Assessment of different technologies of botanical seed cultivation was carried out. The biggest influence on germination of botanical seeds was found to be the method of sowing and substratum x method of sowing. In first tuber generation it was cleared out that such traits like earliness and number of tubers were conditioned on parental lines. Yield of hybrids depended on method of sowing
