By selection the time of weed control in millet crops one should consider the time of appearance and the weed coenosis structure. In years of cold and humid weather by prevalence of very young weed plants one should carry out weed control at 3 crop leaves stage, under dry weather conditions weed germination is inhibited and it is expedient to wait for the rainfall after which germinate the majority of very young weed plants; however, weed control later than 5-6 leaves in the majority of cases will be less effective as more than 80% of weeds will have germinated by that time and the delay in time leads to weed plant resistance to herbicides. If in millet crops grow a large number of Sonchus spp. and Cirsium, than one should do the treatment a little bit later - at crop tillering stage, selecting the herbicides of the correspondent spectrum of action
