This research aimed at investigating the current situation of barley in Egypt in general, during the period from 2003-2005, to reduce the food gap and reduce the wheat importation. In addition to, the research try to evaluate irrigation. The results of the study referred to the possibility of expanding the planted in new land by varieties Giza 130 and Giza 131 which produce 1.73, 1.55 ton and regarded variety Giza which 129 suitable planted in old land was produce 1.56 ton/fed. Also, minimizing the production cost of barley and the same time increasing the productive efficiency of barley for this varieties and. Decreasing the area which planted berseem (the main competitor in the crop pattern with wheat).
