The relationship between milk traits (milk yield and composition) and reproductive traits (service period, services per conception, interval between calving and first insemination) was studied in Czech Fleckvieh cows. Individual milk samples were collected 90-180 days after calving. The analysis showed statistically significant but low negative correlations between milk yield and some milk components. On the other hand, correlation coefficients between milk yield and reproductive traits were positive but not statistically significant. This confirms a general tendency of deterioration of the reproductive performance with increasing milk yield. When somatic cell counts and urea, acetone and fat concentrations in milk increased, some of the reproductive traits (number of inseminations and length of service period) worsened.
