Field experiment with sugar beet varieties Terano and Swing was established in a maize production area (Czech Republic) during the years 2003-2005 in order to evaluate the effect of bio-stimulators Trichomil and Beta-LIQ on the yield and chemical composition of sugar beet roots. There was a significant effect of the year on root and sugar yields. Trichomil and Beta-LIQ positively - but not significantly - affected root and sugar yields. There were interactions between the bio-stimulators used, year and variety. These interactions affected mainly K, Na and alpha-amino N concentrations. Increases were observed especially after Trichomil application. The application of beta-LIQ led to high Na concentrations in the roots.
