Effect of various protectants of plant origins on egg laying of Callosobruchus maculatus F. infesting pigeonpea seeds

Studies were carried out on the efficacy of 11 seed protectants against Callosobruchus maculatus F. on pigeonpea during March to July 2003. Observations were taken at I, 35, 70 and 105 days interval. Dung cake ash, sand and saw dust (4 cm covering of each) proved to be highly effective in preventing the egg laying completely.
