The magnitude of 'I' and 'J L' type epistasis was more or less in same order for siliquae per unit length, whereas for main shoot length and number of siliquae on, main shoot length 'I' type epistasis was higher than 'J L' type epistasis indicating that selection in early generation could be quite beneficial. The epistasis for seed yield was of additive x dominance and dominance x dominance kind, Therefore, to improve seed yield, the selection is to be practised in advance generation of selection. One experiment was raised in normal and moisture stress environment to detect and measure the interation between the environments for main' shoot length, siliquae characteristics ana seed yield including 30 triple test cross (ITC) families. Additive as well as dominance gene were observed significant for main shoot length, number of siliquae on main shoot length and seed yield. However, epistasis was also observed significant for main shoot length, number of siliquae on main shoot length and siliquae per unit length. The additive gene effects were more sensitive to environmental changes then the dominance gene effects. Hence, on the basis of results of the present study, it can be concluded that the hybrid India mustard would be more stable in varying environments as compared to the homozygous variety. Therefore, the commercial hybrids of such genetic make up need to be strengthened for increasing the production as well as productivity of Indian mustard.
