A study was conducted to determine the suitability of crossbred Jersey bull-calves for draught purpose in comparison to the desi or local bull-calves of Orissa. The experimental material (specimen) was collected from equal number of F1 generation Jersey cross-bred bull calves and local or desi bull calves between the ages of 2-4 years. Gross arrangement pattern of different locomotory muscles in both the breeds of bull-calves was studied on comparative bases. The gross shape, size, location, extension, relation with other bones and muscles, origin, insertion, distribution of fibres and pennation did not vary significantly in these two breeds of bull-calves. It could be concluded that the crossbred Jersey bull-calves are as good as the desi or local bred bull-calves of Orissa in respect to this draught purpose use.
