Evaluation of drought tolerant elite wheat lines in On-farm condition

In order to yield comparison of six wheat drought tolerant promising lines with check cultivars, this experiment was conducted within a RCBD with eight lines/cultivars and three replications. This experiment was planted in farmer field at Mohammad Abad (NE of Neishabour) in 2004-05. Agronomical practices such as prepare of seedbed, use of fertilizer and so on did base on conventional methods of site trial, exception irrigation, which at anthesis was cut –off. There was significant difference among the investigated lines/cultivars for plant height, thousands kernel weight and seed/spike as well. A positive correlation was observed between grain yield with plant height and seed/spike. Results showed that WS-82-13 and WS-82-9 have better yield performance than other lines, so could be introduced as better and new promising lines.
