Collection and Determination of the scale insects fauna of the south provinces of Caspian sea.

In this study, 57 scale insects species were determined from Gilan, Mazandaran and Golestan Provinces.These are belonging to 4 families as follows: 46 Diaspididae, 8 Coccidae, 2 Asterolecanidae and 3 Eriococcidae. Kuwanaspis howardi Cooley is new for Iranian fauna. Among the identified species in the north of Iran, the following species are spread in all 3 provincesAonidiella aurantii (Maskell) , Aspidiotus nerii Bouché, Carulaspis minima (Signoret), Chionaspis salicis(Linnaeus), Lepidosaphes ulmi Linnaeus, Parlatoria oleae Colveé, Pseudaleucaspis pentagona (Targioni Tozzetti), Coccus hesperidium Linnaeus and Pulvinaria aurantii (Cockerell). Among them, P. aurantii , A. aurantii ، P.pentagona and P. oleae have the vast host plants and high damages.
