Screening of vegetables which are adaptable to fertilizer-restricted nursery cultivation

We investigated adaptability of 16 vegetables to fertilizer-restricted nursery cultivation. Budding was not observed in cabbage, kale, cauliflower, and kohlrabi during fertilizer-restricted nursery cultivation. In the fertilizer-restricted nursery, drought tolerance of Brassica oleracea L. was increased and its insect injury was reduced. Results of this study suggest that only Brassica oleracea L. cultivars are adaptable to fertilizer-restricted nursery cultivation.
