The labor saving of container handling operation in Baker's Garlic harvest system

In the cultivation of Baker's Garlic that is the special products of the Tottori City Fukube-cho, it has worked on the labor saving like the introduction of the harvest machine etc. However, there is work to which mechanization such as planting and making of after-harvests is not advanced either. In the Baker's Garlic cultivation, the producer's aging and the problem of worker shortage are brought up and the labor saving of each work is requested. The transportation of Baker's Garlic in planting, the harvest, and the making uses the container (52mm in width, 36mm in length, and 30cm in height) for agriculture now. This container is almost handled according to human strength. In this study, the current state of the materials handling operation of the harvest and the planting period was investigated to attempt the labor saving of this materials handling operation and the proposal of the improvement idea was tried. As a result, the container was loaded directly into development and the palette in the large size container for agriculture, and it proposed the idea to which the frequency of handling was reduced by carrying the palette by the forklift.
