Genotypic differences and allelic frequencies of PRKAG3 responsible for RN (Rendment Napole) phenotype were analyzed by PCR-RFLP method from 390 pigs (28 Hampshire breed and 363 LY and LYD crossbreed) in Korea. R200Q substitution responsible for RN phenotype was detected only from Hampshire breed heterologously, and the allelic frequency was 0.107. The allelic frequency of V191I substitution which has potentially effective in meat quality was lower in Hampshire breed (0.071) than in other LY and LYD crossbreeds (0.207), and the total frequency was 0.198.
