The theses presented in this work are: carnivores usually acquire parasites via their food; animal feeding habits define their helminth fauna - the more diverse its feeding patterns, the more diverse its helminth fauna; carnivores are a reservoir for many zoonoses in nature and help ensure parasite transmission. Along with the defence of the above theses, the purpose of this work is to gain data about carnivore (lynx, wolf, fox and raccoon dog) helminth fauna in Latvia, the prevalence and intensity of the parasite population of these carnivores as well as the main vehicles of transmission of these parasites in Latvia.
