A set of three fungicides, Topsin-M (Thiophanate Methyl) Ridomil (Metalaxyl) and Dithane M-45 (Mancozeb) were applied as post emergence treatment for three consecutive years, for the control of damping off disease of tobacco nursery. The dark air-cured Virginia tobacco variety, MA-2, was used for these studies. All the fungicides proved as the most effective in controlling the disease in tobacco seedlings. The isolates from diseased plants were recorded as Rhizoctonia solani Pythium spp. Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria tenuis and Macrophomina phaseolina.
