The study was conducted to identify mosses and liverworts along the lower slope of the western side of Mount Sinaka, Arakan, Cotabato. Certain physico-chemical characteristics such as temperature, relative humidity, and soil pH were also determined. The study area was 1,500 square maters divided into five transects using the Line Transect Method. Each line transect measured 100 meters stretch and extended 1 meter on both sides. The mosses and liverworts collected were identified base on their leaf morphological characteristics. Results showed that there were nine moss species under eight families and five liverwort species under four families present in the study area. The moss species collected and identified at the study area were as follows: Fissidens nobilis, Leucobryum aduncum var. scalare, Octoblepharum albidum, Calymperes taitense, Plagiomnium succulentum, Phyrrhobryum spiniforme, Symphysodontella cynlindracea, Pelekium velatum and Phynchostegium celebicum. The liverwort species were: Heteroschypus argutus, Lejeunia, Riocardia spp. and Domortiera hursuta.
