The research was conducted on eight-years-old wastelands. The only agricultural activity on this land was grazing by Polish Heath Sheep ewes with lambs. The great variety of plants species was stated and its changes during vegetative period. The grasses were more prevalent in comparison to the other groups of plants. Downward trend in occurrence of grasses during the research was observed, too. Low values of the most valuable nutrients and decreasing trend in energy content in pasture grass was observed. The described tendencies indicated necessity of some regulations in the stocking rate of animals on this pasture. Because of unfavourable changes in botanical composition, low feeding values in researched pasture grass, decrease of feeding values during vegetative period, and insufficient level of metabolizable energy content, some corrections in the total number of animals on the pasture has to be carried out. It was stated also that additional research should be conducted to explain the problem in more detail. Experiment also showed that Polish Heath Sheep could be kept on pasture during all year under extensive system without barn. The research proved that it is possible to produce meat lamb in areas which are not used for any agricultural purposes
